God’s own hospital got JCI, highest accreditation
New Delhi, July 31: Aster Medcity, God’s own hospital in Cochin, Kerala’s the best, has got the highest gold standard accreditation JCI (The Joint Commission International), considered the global gold standard seal of quality care.
This hospital also has ‘accreditation’ given by late APJ Abdul Kalam, who inaugurated this hospital not long ago.
It is debatable though, which one of the two is more valuable. While inaugurating, Kalam had said almost like this, ‘its founder Dr. Azad Moopen, a Keralite NRI health honcho in Dubai requested me to be associated with establishment of this hospital. I said to him that I will associate only when you promise compassion will be this hospital’s most important component to which he agreed.’
Talking to Meditoall editor in chief Dhananjay Kumar on phone from Cochin, Aster Medcity’s CEO, Dr. Harish Pillai, said, ‘JCI Accreditation only upholds the hospital’s commitment to excellence and is a milestone that will keep inspiring the Aster Medcity team to deliver the very best of healthcare to the community. JCI will also provide constant support and education / services that would be beneficial for both patients and the staff.’
In a press release sent to Meditoall office in Noida from Dubai said that Aster Medcity won JCI accreditation for world class healthcare. With this, this hospital becomes the JCI accredited quaternary care hospital in Kerala, the god’s own country. Seeing the grandeur of its infrastructure and high quality of service at the time of inauguration a couple of months ago, Meditoall had named Aster Medcity as God’s own hospital.
Ms. Paula Wilson, President and Chief Executive Officer of JCI handed over the prestigious accreditation to Dr. Azad Moopen, Chairman, Aster Medcity and Dr. Harish Pillai, CEO, Aster Medcity, in the presence of Dr. Prabhu Vinayakham, Managing Director, Asia Pacific Joint Commission International and several other dignitaries.
Dr. Azad Moopen, Chairman, Aster Medcity said, ‘the JCI Accreditation is a great honor and that the hospital will continue to maintain its world-class quality standards in every sphere of healthcare, including patient and employee safety. He also informed that the Joint Commission International, in the audit report, has appreciated the entire team of Aster Medcity for their caliber and in-depth knowledge.
Dr. Moopen, Chairman & Managing Director – Aster DM Healthcare further said, ‘In a nutshell it is the reaffirmation of the fact that we are doing all that we can to live up to our tagline : ‘We’ll Treat You Well.’
Apart from the JCI Accreditation, Aster Medcity has also achieved the NABH Accreditation, first ever NABH Award for Excellence in Nursing and Green OT Certification by Bureau Veritas – all within one year of opening its door to the world.
The Joint Commission International (JCI) awarded the coveted Gold Seal of Approval to Aster Medcity for exceptional standards in healthcare and patient safety. Aster Medcity won the JCI Accreditation based on the latest and the most stringent evaluation standards that measured a total of 1145 elements. Aster Medcity is the first quaternary care hospital in Kerala to win the JCI Accreditation.
