Ayurvedic Doctors have Harmed Ayurveda the Most- Dr. Harsh Vardhan

New Delhi, October 20:  Union Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan today bemoaned the fact that Aurvedic doctors themselves are harming the cause of this great system of medicine by converting themselves into allopath.

He was speaking to health reporters and health writers in Shastri Bhavan, while releasing a brochure at curtain raiser press conference for 6^th World Ayurveda Congress from 7 November to 9 November at Pragati Maidan in Delhi. PM Narendra Modi will inaugurate this World Congress on 7^th of November.

He said that Ayurvedic doctors, who are using allopathic medicines, are doing disservice to great medicine of Ayurved.  He said despite being an allopath, he believed in great efficacy of Ayurveda. He said, ‘it is not only his emotional commitment but he has come to this conclusion after extensive study of Ayurvedic literature’. Calling Ayurveda as fifth Veda, he said if one delved deep into Aurvedic literature, one would find it contained all that we today call modern medicine.

He said that Ayurveda should have got supreme place in India after independence but it did not happen. But the present Government led by PM Modi is committed to give Ayurveda its due exalted place in medicine. ‘That is why we have started Ayush Mission and increased allocation from about 1200 crore to 5 thousand crores. This world Ayurveda Congress too is being organised for the first time’.

More than 4000 representatives from all over world are coming to participate in this World Congress. Health Ministers of 24 countries have been invited. Health Ministers of India will also participate.
