The Netherlands Beacons to give Indian Healthcare a Sound footing

New Delhi, June 6: The Netherlands, having Europe’s best healthcare system, has moved to give Indian healthcare a much needed succor.

NATHEALTH, a forum of health providers in India, signed an MOU with Task Force Healthcare from there in presence of the Netherlands’ Prime Minister Mark Rutte. This collaboration is tipped as being a source of massive funding and sharing best of planning for India’s healthcare.

NATHEALTH in India has been constituted to herald an ideal healthcare infrastructure and planning, measuring to best global standard. It has attained the clout to influence government decisions regarding healthcare.

The present Memorandum of Understanding will come into effect from 5^th June, the date of signing and will remain effective for a period of three years.The Task Force Health Care (TFHC), a Dutch organization represents the Life Sciences & Health sector in the Netherlands.

On this occasion, Anjan Bose, Secretary General, NATHEALTH, said,  ‘Our key objective of signing the MoU is to promote cooperation and exchange of information, knowledge and expertise between NATHEALTH & TFHC in the field of life sciences & health, on the basis of equality, reciprocity and mutual benefit, taking into account the applicable laws and legal provisions in each country.’

Len de Jong, Task Force Health Care, Chairman working group India, said ‘The Task Force Health Care is an innovative Dutch platform for the medical sector, which combines the expertise of companies, NGO’s, knowledge-institutes and the Dutch government. The Netherlands are keen to share their knowledge and experience with that of India. Together we will be able to provide excellent medical healthcare in India as well as in the Netherlands.’

Mr. Sushobhan Dasgupta, President, NATHEALTH, said, ‘India needs a significant increase in funding ($3 trillion cumulatively) to bridge the gaps in Indian healthcare ecosystem. Through this alliance NATHEALTH & Task Force Health Care will develop and strengthen cooperation and exchange in Hospital building & infrastructure, Healthy aging including rehabilitation, Health systems strengthening including e-health and management, Medical devices, equipment and medical technology, Education & training, Best Practice sharing and alignment with National Health Policies of the respective countries.’

Sander Vorselman, Task Force Health Care, Vice-Chairman working group India, said “The Netherlands continues to have the best health care system in the EU. I am looking forward to learning more about Indian health care possibilities, while sharing our Dutch knowledge on infrastructure, buildings, and hospital planning. This MOU will provide the opportunity for strong cooperation and will prove mutually beneficial.’

 Mr. Rahul Khosla, Senior Vice President, NATHEALTH, said ‘the creation of physical and financial access to healthcare for every citizen is core to the development of the economy. This will be essential to build the ‘safety net’ that every citizen is entitled to. India can draw learning from several countries (developed and developing) around the world on how they have progressed in building the backbone of infrastructure (physical and social) for the growth of their economies. This association is a step forward towards that.’
